Knowledge Centre "ARhus" - Roeselare EN-NL-FR -EN- The ‘knowledge centre’ ARhus project is situated on the former site of the Bank of Roeselare in the heart of the city. The site will become a new multifunctional inner-city area with private and public functions including everything from housing, homes for senior citizens, shops, offi ces and exhibition areas to a knowledge centre with a library. The knowledge centre is going to be an open house, a public information forum and meeting place for people of all ages. A key project in the heart of the Belgian city of Roeselare is the renewal of the inner-city nucleus formed by Noordstraat, Ooststraat and Henri Horriestraat. The city centre will be structurally strengthened by enlarging a modern centre of knowledge and learning, developing additional commercial premises and building new homes. The renewal project is situated right in the centre of the city. It is an integral part of the main shopping precinct that stretches between the Saint Michael Church and the Grote Markt (market square) on the one hand and the railway station on the other. De uitbouw van een modern kennis- en leercentrum, de ontwikkeling van bijkomende handelszaken en de realisatie van nieuwe woningen zullen zorgen voor een structurele versterking van het stedelijke centrum. Het projectgebied van het stadskernvernieuwingsproject bevindt zich pal in het centrum van de stad Roeselare. Het maakt deel uit van het kernwinkelgebied, dat zich uitstrekt tussen de Sint-Michielskerk en de Grote Markt enerzijds en het station anderzijds. Het project ‘kenniscentrum’ is gesitueerd op de vroegere site van de Bank van Roeselare, in het hart van de stad. De site wordt een nieuw multifunctioneel binnenstedelijk gebied met zowel private als publieke functies: van woongelegenheden, senioren woningen, winkels, kantoren, en tentoonstellingsruimtes tot een kenniscentrum met bibliotheek. Dit kenniscentrum wordt een open huis, een publiek informatieforum en ontmoetingsplaats waar mensen van alle leeftijden terecht kunnen. Dit nieuwe knooppunt van functies in de stad is opgebouwd rond een winkelwandelstraat met een publiek plein. De site staat direct in verbinding met de bestaande winkelstraten en de Grote Markt. De multifunctionele invulling en de kwaliteitsvolle architectuur zullen een impuls geven aan de leefbaarheid van de Roeselaarse stadskern. -FR- Kenniscentrum ARhus Roeselare Le projet de rénovation du centre-ville dans la zone délimitée par les rues Noordstraat, Ooststraat et Henri Horriestraat constitue une initiative importante au cœur de la ville de Roeselare. La réalisation d’un centre moderne de connaissances et de formation, le développement de commerces additionnels et la construction de nouveaux logements devraient se traduire par une consolidation structurelle du centre-ville. La zone d’exécution du projet de rénovation du centre-ville se trouve en plein cœur de la ville de Roeselare. Elle fait partie de la zone commerciale qui s’étend entre l’église Saint-Michel et la Grand place d’une part et la gare d’autre part. Le projet ‘kenniscentrum’ se situe sur le site qu’occupait auparavant la Bank van Roeselare, au cœur de la cité. Ce site se muera en une nouvelle zone urbaine multifonctionnelle présentant un large éventail de fonctions publiques et privées : logements, habitations pour personnes âgées, magasins, bureaux, salles d’exposition et centre de connaissances abritant une bibliothèque. Ce centre de connaissances remplira les missions suivantes : maison ouverte, forum d’information et lieu de rencontre ouvert aux personnes de tout âge. Ce nouveau carrefour fonctionnel s’articulera autour d’une rue piétonne commerçante débouchant sur une place publique. Le site communique directement avec les rues commerçantes existantes et la Grand place. La vocation multifonctionnelle et l’architecture de haut vol de ce complexe ne manqueront pas d’améliorer la qualité de la vie au centre de Roeselare.
