Salvator Villas & Spa Hotel is named from the famous explorer, a lover of nature and wild life preservation, Archduke Ludwig Salvator. He has inspired the creator of this luxurious boutique hotel to bring a unique experience of class, style and tailored luxury. The complex is built amphitheatre style on a hill surrounding the area locally known as Kyperi - affording breathtaking views of the lush green olive groves and shimmering Ionian Sea beyond with the islands of Paxos & Antipaxos in the background. Angelos Angelopoulos was responsible for the whole concept and the interior design, as well as the exterior (landscape, facades, pool area etc). Angelos Angelopoulos’ purpose was to transfer the landscape into the internal space. This magical setting was his inspiration for the master color pattern so the nature surrounding the hotel led to the green colour inside as well. This place addresses to guests of the world. His desire was to compose the Greek atmosphere with the sensation of a cosmopolitan resort. Angelos Angelopoulos undertook this project from the beginning and Zigouri family enabled him to design a superior boutique hotel. The walls of stone of the building follow the rules of the local architecture. A big graphic external mosaic wall art gives the basic color statement. Olive green and white color board dominates all the spaces from the eclectic lobby, to the library, to the bar and the restaurant. The designer has combined pieces of Province style with modern design furniture (“Shadowy” armchair by Tord Boontje). Many of the furniture are custom designed by Angelos Angelopoulos, such as the white wooden pillowed sofas (lobby area & bedrooms), most of the lighting pieces (chandeliers, table lamps and free standing ones) at all the public areas and the rooms. All the rooms, from the deluxe suites to the classy villas with the private pools, follow the color law of green and white in a minimal design combined by the “DSW” chair by Charles & Ray Eames and a mosaic wall art as a headboard designed by Angelos Angelopoulos. At the area of the dazzling spa dominates a long mosaic “curtain” wall designed by Angelos Angelopoulos. Primitive design sculptures and busts of Buddha in white, gold and silver shades combine the perfect quite and serene scenery for the services provided. There are both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, hammam and a fully equipped gym. Photographs by Costas Mitropoulos '>http://www.costasmitropoulos.com'>
