Evocare la leggerezza Quando devi progettare una scala pensi sempre a come renderla solida, pensi sempre alla costruzione ai materiali da utilizzare, alla normativa. Per una volta ho voluto pensare alla pura sensazione che si prova nel salire una scala e cioè capire come si comporta il nostro corpo nei confronti del materiale. Ho voluto in qualche modo ripercorrere la sensazione che ogni gradino può suscitare in base alle proprie qualità e cioè alla flessione e alla resistenza. Per rafforzare questa percezione ho utilizzato materiali resistenti, ma flessibili e soprattutto sottili, capaci di dare un effetto di “leggerezza” e di immaterialità. Percorrendo la scala ogni passo che si compie è diverso dal precedente perché ogni pedata reagisce in modo diverso al peso del corpo, ogni passo che compiamo non è mai uguale al precedente. L’anima della pedata è in acciaio, formata da un piatto da 5 mm e due pannelli in legno laminato con finitura rovere scuro che contrastano con il colore bianco di fondo della parete. La magia della struttura, cioè la sua capacità di resistere al peso, è nascosta all’interno del muro grazie alla sapienza e ingegno di artigiani competenti. Architecture and lightness When you have to design a stair you always think about how to make it solid , what are the best construction materials, how to deal with the legislation. This time I wanted to think about the pure sensation you feel when you climb a stair, to understand how the body behaves in relation to the material . I wanted to trace the feeling that every step can raise according to its physical quality: bending and resistance . To reinforce this perception , I used durable but thin and flexible materials, to give an effect of "lightness" and immateriality . Along the scale every step is different from the previous one, each one reacts differently to the weight of the body. Every step we take is never the same as the previous one. The structure of the kick is made of steel, formed by a 5 mm plate and two panels in laminated wood with dark oak finish that contrast with the white background of the wall. The magic of the structure lays in its ability to withstand the weight , it is hidden inside the wall thanks to the wisdom of expert craftsmen .
