Comprising of two elements, TILT radically re-thought the entrance and five-storey atrium space to Quality Court while also designing the 170sqm Club itself nestled within. It is located within a period building in the Chancery Lane Conservation Area, beside the Royal Law Courts and Central Criminal Court and is designed for professionals and midtown workers. This commission, to design the entrance and atrium of the main building as well as the Club within, marks a departure for Workspace and a first time commission for TILT. The design detail of the entrance & atrium and accompanying photos are covered in a separate press release. The Club itself has carefully balanced the inspiring and exciting collegiate atmosphere of a successful coworking space with an effective business environment. They have created opportunities for private meetings, singular working and study, alongside dedicated desking and relaxed lounge areas – deliberately challenging the staid office environments of the past. Key features of the design include: Pockets of light and atmosphere created with a range of fitting styles, from pendants, uplighting, continuous strip and desk lights. The library wall: an undulating continuous library with cubbyholes for seating and study. The Coworking Bench: a snaking, angular and continuous bench desk at different heights and orientations for solo working and 1-2-1 working. The oak veneered desk cleverly makes use of the columns to create individual working zones along a continuous length of desk. The elegant oak joinery fits effortlessly around the dark grey painted columns and each working space is lit by Anglepoise Duo 1227 wall mounted lamp. A glazed meeting room at one end that mirrors the team working room at the other. Further use of TILT’s Suitcase Desk in new materials and finishes. Materials were carefully chosen to create a unique working environment that would cater for a range of working types. Black Noraplan Uni floor works with intelligent lighting design to give the space a comfortable yet high quality finish. The lounge area allows the host to alter the light and ambiance of the space through the Wi-Fi at the touch of a button, and also includes two rugs in a Rubens Boucle designed by TILT, alongside the TILT designed ‘Quiet’ and ‘Call’ furniture.
