In September 2013, the Hotel Volgograd 5* completed the renovation of the first 36 of its 128 rooms. Located in the central square of Volgograd (former Stalingrad), the hotel was founded in 1890, then demolished during the Battle of Stalingrad between 1942 and 1943, and finally it was re-built in 1948 according to the Stalinist architecture. During its long history, the hotel hosted prominent people like Michail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov, Aleksandra Pakhmutova, Mikhail Gorbachev and Hugo Chavez. Doors by Pietrelli.
