CORPERATE CAMPUS APELDOORN | ADP Architecten

The Corperate Campus Apeldoorn is the newest headquarter of one of the major insurance companies in the Netherlands. The campus is situated on a unique location, on the border between the city of Apeldoorn and the biggest nature reserve of the country. In this fascinating context ADP Architects developed a new, original and modern office concept, in line with the rich tradition of the client in providing innovative workspaces. The build program is spread out over the entire campus site in 10 separate low-rise buildings. Besides office buildings the project accommodates a conference centre, logistics building, several pavilions and a car parking. The buildings are positioned in a way they enclose the landscape and create different types of external space, such as the valley, the sun deck, the forest and the entrance square. The relation between the buildings, the interior and the landscape is the main focus of the project: ‘working in a green environment’. CONFERENCE CENTRE The central building of the corporate campus Apeldoorn is the conference centre. ADP architects set up the whole building so to stimulate interaction and communication. As working in a green environment is the main concept of the campus the landscape literally continues in to the entrance hall of the conference building, so nature and architecture melt together in the heart of the campus. Standing in the tall entrance hall you can see the restaurant, and the 25 conference rooms located on different floors. The restaurant, seating 750 people, is spread out over different levels gradually stepping down towards the forest outside. The landscape inside the building, the horizontal lines of the different floors and the substantial glass roof make the building impressive, but friendly and pleasant too. It has a hotel like atmosphere where both employees and visitors feel welcome and comfortable.
