Bar Epice is a basement wine bar near Roppongi Crossing in Roppongi – one of Tokyo’s more affluent areas. The layout of the bar is centred around a long, diagonally placed counter. Made from a single slab of Bubinga wood, the counter top together with a 4m long suspended lamp creates a sense of warmth in the exposed concrete interior. The bar stools are cantilevered off the wall under the counter to efficiently use the limited space. Opposite the bar counter is a cantilevered concrete standing counter.
