Designed for clients who love music and wine, 1 0 0 1 is a newly renovated 55m2 apartment in Tokyo by Keiji Ashizawa Design. The brief for the apartment was for a cozy 'hotel room' with storage for large collections of comics, CDs, books and clothes, inserted inside the existing interior skeleton with its low ceilings and original rough concrete features.
The new interior involved the making of everything from the storage system, to the furniture, screens, doors and kitchen cabinetry. All elements are connected by colour, materiality and form. The furniture was made as big as possible to give the clients a comfortable place to relax, while colours were chosen in deep blue and red to balance the grey interior shell.
Classic elements include the Louis Poulsen PH5 lamp that softens the robustness of the interior and provides an intimate glow over the dining table, while the shelves will continue to grow and accommodate more books and traces of life.
