The De Candido Express supermarket, located in Maracaibo, Venezuela, on the 4th Avenue, develops a concept that represents the attributes of the De Candido brand like simplicity, firm softness, versatility, continuity, plus innovation. It must be replicable but adaptable to different urban locations. To establish a position concerning the traditional architecture of the free-standing commercial buildings, and to relate it to the brand itself, in the architecture of the express at De Candido supermarket the closings must be seen as continuous.

That is why the design of this building is based on the origami technique, that permits, using the same material, give shape a innumerable forms, a innumerable buildings; the same paper folded in different ways, creating a continuous architectural piece with different angles and points of view of the form; in this case, we used a laminated galvanized steel plates pre-painted white, for climatic purposes.

The origami technique permits infinite shapes, that mean replicability, and that is very important for De Candido because they plan to build a lot of express supermarket; on the other hand, this replicability would not be generic one; the openness of this folds permits to qualify the building according to each place.

Being located in an anisotropic environment, the building choose to open to the main avenue to make public its interior; the building shows its content to please the natural curiosity of the Caribbean people, looking forward to meet the city domesticating its immediate urban environment with the experience of buying with pleasure.
