On the occasion of the preview of an extract from the documentary Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf’s for the 111 years celebration of the luxury department stores Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Migliore+Servetto Architects has designed a very light set up at the 38° and 39° floors of the scenographic viewpoint of Lombardia skyscraper. At the 39° floor: a small “movie theater” shows a preview of an extract from the documentary Scatter my ashes at Bergdorf’s, while in the hall with a 270° view over Milan, as the prow of a boat, 18 bookrests activate a narration through images about New York Times, T Magazine and Bergdorf Goodman. At the end of the hall a big ledwall hovers over Milan’s skyline where, like in a great virtual book, a series of images and stories about the two brands can be seen. At the 38° floor the terrace hosts an installation of light for the outdoor lounge area: spheres of light and graphics, with different diameters follow one after the other defining the space and lighting a unique view of the Milanese skyline.
