House in the Forest

The site is located in the woods of Modra-Harmonia on a hill above the water reservoir. Originally, there was a recreational cabin standing on the plot, from which only the stairs and basement have remained. The investor's focus was to preserve the remaining torso of the cabin and to build a family house on it. We tried for the house to be most opened to the direction of the lake maximalize the views of the valley. The first floor is partially put bellow terrain, so the entrance is located on the second floor. There is also the living area and bedrooms located. On the floor below, there is the guest room, utility room and relaxing area with sauna, home theater and playroom. One of the most important things are the interactions between interior and exterior by large glass openings with possibillity to walk out on the terrain from most of rooms. This is also supported by designing terraces on both floors of the buildings.
