TYPE: Culture, Public
The project for a museum in the future Sarcapos archaeological-river park, focuses on the reintrerpretation of the old local construction tradition as a tool for transformation of the existing technical volumes into 'landmarks', recognisable traces of measurement and use of the surrounding landscape.
The proposed model assembles the exhibition/museum structures and those supporting the excavations in an unique hypogeal building, arranged onto the existing pools - expanded to host all requested functions - even keeping the distinction between the path's organisation and the different functional entities.
The efficiency of the building is achieved also through the use of low maintenance materials, choosing components that are environmentally sustainable and long-lasting. The functionality and quality of the proposed spaces, achieved with a particular attention to a low environmental impact is highlighted by the reuse of water, designing an independent wetpark for water recycling
