Il Comune di Latiano, proprietario di un fabbricato allo stato rustico della superficie di circa 1050 mq, intendeva completare la struttura e realizzare un impianto sportivo polifunzionale (basket e volley) che potesse garantire la pratica dello sport al coperto con la presenza di un piccolo pubblico di spettatori.
Il fabbricato esistente, realizzato in cemento armato con struttura prefabbricata, era stato realizzato sulla base di un progetto generale di sistemazione dell'area che prevedeva la realizzazione per fasi dell' impianto sportivo,comprendente il campo da gioco ed i servizi per gli atleti e per gli spettatori. La struttura prefabbricata esistente, destinata ad accogliere il campo da gioco, era stata oggetto di un primo lotto di lavori, sospesi poi per ragioni economiche.
Il progetto di completamento dell'impianto riprende il layout distributivo del progetto iniziale, dotando la struttura dei necessari spazi attrezzati a servizio degli atleti e degli spettatori da realizzare in due corpi di fabbrica separati strutturalmente e funzionalmente, per un uso differenziato della struttura e nel rispetto delle normative.
L'obiettivo di miglioramento delle prestazioni energetiche ha suggerito di intervenire sull'involucro in calcestruzzo prefabbricato destinato al campo da gioco ed agli spettatori, prevedendo di rivestire i tamponamenti prefabbricati con pannellature in lega di alluminio, resistenti e durevoli, e prive di onerose manutenzioni. Il rivestimento di facciata si differenzia sui fronti rimarcando il prospetto principale, a nord, con una tipologia diversa di pannellature, integrate con il sistema delle vetrate. Tecnicamente, le facciate in alluminio sono ventilate al fine di abbattere le temperature superficiali interne.
Parte dei tegoloni prefabbricati di copertura sarà rimossa e sostituita con strutture in policarbonato trasparente per favorire l'introspezione di luce naturale.
Il campo da gioco e le finiture interne saranno realizzati nel rispetto delle normative CONI e delle federazioni sportive.
Il progetto prende in considerazione le grandi alberature (platani, tigli) esistenti che svettano lungo il lato sud dell'area, ne incrementa il numero, e le organizza in un generale sistema del verde avente come obiettivi la caratterizzazione formale del polo sportivo e la mitigazione dell’impatto del volume della struttura prefabbricata esistente.
SPORTS CENTRE for the DISTRICTof LATIANO
The District Council of Latiano, owner of an unfinished building with a surface of about 1050 square meters, intended to complete that structure to create a multipurpose sports centre (for basketball and volleyball) allowing the practice of indoor sports together with the presence of a limited audience.
The existing building, made of a reinforced concrete prefabricated structure, had been built on the basis of a general project aimed at rearranging the surrounding area, which included a staged construction of a sports facility with playing court and services for athletes and spectators. Thus, the existing prefabricated structure, intended to accommodate the playing court, went through the initial stage of work, which was later suspended due to economic reasons.
The project for the completion of the work keeps the initial building layout, and provides the structure with all the necessary spaces equipped to support athletes and spectators to be erected in two structurally and functionally separated buildings, so as to guarantee both a differentiated use of the structure and compliance with the regulations.
The objective of improving energy efficiency suggested to intervene on the prefabricated concrete building envelope for housing the playing court and the spectators area, with the aim of cladding the curtain walls with aluminum alloy prefabricated panels, resistant and durable, and free of maintenance costs. The facade cladding is different on the two fronts, highlighting the main view of the north-facing side with a different type of panels, integrated with the glass wall system. Technically, the aluminum facades are ventilated in order to reduce the internal surface temperature.
Part of the roofing shingle panels will be removed and replaced with transparent polycarbonate structures to facilitate natural lighting.
The playing court and the interiors will be finished in compliance with the National Olympics Committee (CONI) and Sports Federation regulations.
The project also increases the number of existing large trees (planes and limes) standing out along the southward side of the area, and arranges them into a broader, general green system aiming to formally characterize the sports center and to mitigate the impact of the existing prefabricated structure’s volume.
