The relation of new architectures with the surroundings is based upon flexibility of pedestrian walkways. These directly lead visitors into urban vegetable gardens. Restaurants and other spaces are extended into the gardens, while creating a direct relationship with nature. The buildings along the park are strongly opened in order to create a see through relation with the vegetable gardens. Wooden pavements create pathways inside those spaces, while crossing small squares and water fountains. Vegetation and water get inside the building, while emphasizing the relation with the surrounding landscape. Peculiar attention is payed to the relation with entrance ways and their structures covered by curtains. The wooden facade veneering, as well as the use of brise soleil and roof structures, is a strong characteristic for the services structure.
