KLOK, designed by Elke van den Berg (1984) and Femke Roefs (1983), graduates from the Design Academy in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Only recent they opened their own studios in Eindhoven and every now and then they work together on a project. The idea to design a clock came quite simple as both lacked a matching piece in their interior. The choice of making KLOK out of porcelain was an easy task; it is their favourite material for crafting. Femke and Elke each have a passion for bright colours and by adding pigments while mixing just on instinct the outcome is a cheerful and unique surprise. The pale and creamy colours make for nice contrasts against the fluorescent shiny hands that tell you time in style. The hollow shapes of KLOK remind us of a collection of antique plates hanging from the wall and note the fine detail of hand-stamped letters and numbers on the edges.
