A competition entry for the enclosure to be built at the Newton Park Swimming Pool in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The enclosure was to cover the Olympic size pool and the existing pavilion. The final entry was the result of teamwork between myself, fellow architecture student Avi Dagan and Professor Gavin Mc Lachlan. The idea was to maximize natural light. We believed that sunlight should be allowed to shine in the water and bring life to the space. Overhead louvres was to achieve this goal. The side could open on a good day to connect the pool with the grass area outside.
