Hoxton Square | DOSarchitects
London / United Kingdom
The proposal for 20-21 Hoxton Square is to create a simple and modern building which sits confidently alongside the group of listed buildings by replicating their main cladding material –the brick- as well as picking up the main height lines and rhythms of their façade. The scheme will provide a high quality, contemporary addition to the square while being sympathetic to its historic neighbors and the conservation area. Located on the ground and basement levels, a 691 sq meter Art gallery will add life and vitality to the northern side of the square, whilst complimenting the location next to St. Monica’s Church and Priory buildings. Above ground, and ranging from first floor to third floor, a collection of six contemporary apartments will add diversity and sustainability to the proposals, through the creation of 3 and 2 two bedroom apartments.
