DESCRIPTION: The new Headquarters of the Popular Bank of Cividale is located within the “Italcementi” (industrial cement) area. This is an architectural project characterized by sinuous lines and a modular facade of low-emission glass and photocatalytic cement. The ground floor, which is of a different shape and detached from the upper floors, provides space for the perimeter and decreases the radiation to the ceiling through the glass wall. The modularity of the front of the building is broken down and slopes and shimmers down to the ground. The enclosed space at the forefront is connected to the main body of the building and reached through the council chamber. This space, or shape is built of irregular triangular elements and is supported by four metal pillars that rise up from a pool of water. In the design phase great attention has been paid to the materials used to insulation, as well as to the system of solar panels and to the tri-generation plant located on the roof, making this a class A energy saving building.
