prizeotel is a budget design hotel brand, founded in 2006 by hotelier Marco Nussbaum and "Immobilienökonom" (meaning degree in real estate management studies) Dr. Matthias Zimmermann. For new hotels in Germany prizeotel co-operates exclusively with the international designer Karim Rashid in New York. Rashid’s “hand-writing” is everywhere in the prizeotels, from the design of the rooms, the hallways and the lounge/lobby area. This is what makes the hotels of prizeotel so-called “signature-brand” hotels (it is not about putting one designer chair in a corner and claiming to be a design hotel; also all hotels will have individual designs). prizeotel is an exclusive design product with a charm of a private hotel. Target groups are city and business travellers who like to have a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. In 2009, the first prizeotel, prizeotel Bremen-City, was opened. In 2014 prizeotel Hamburg-City will follow. The aim is to become the most unconventional budget design hotel chain and quality leader with hotels in the most important German cities in the medium rum.
