The Hochbeet is a patch that is elevated from the ground and therefore independent from flooring and soil conditions. It is mainly used in urban environments. Backyards of grey apartment blocks or empty waste land can be used for the cultivation of a variety of regional fruit and vegetables. The raised plating position enables a convenient work posture and a good protection against weeds and pests. The modular and easy to use system allows a step-by-step growth of the planting capacity: Starting as a free-time gardener with one parcel, up to the self-sufficient living family. With a middle planting depth of 30 cm, this raised bed offers perfect conditions for shallow-rooted plants and such with middle long roots, e.g. lettuce, strawberries or peas. This raised bed changes empty back yards into green islands and makes them a meeting place for families, friends and neighbours.
