This contemporary Mediterranean garden design is defined by the use of 'clean' design lines, with focus on hard landscape materials: stone, hardwood, rendered walls. Planting style is bold but simple with the use of drifts of one or two plants that repeat throughout the design. Subtle lighting effects were achieved with the use of carefully placed low voltage LED lights recessed in the pavement and the walls. The garden was planned into terraces that in turn served different purposes. The first is the main entrance terrace that diverges into two lower terraces, the Lawn area terrace, and the bar area terrace. The latter is connected to an existing natural forest of pine and Oak trees that was preserved. Adjacent to the forest is a higher kitchen terrace planted with edible vegetation and herbs, which in turn is linked to a higher terrace, designed to be the children’s playground. A built-in BBQ was added in the lawn terrace which was planned to be the events’ area.
