The rectory, the home of the pastor, was probably built simultaneously with the Gothic church. The parish church was consecrated in 1495 and the rectory should be roughly the same age. In 1834 the rectory was firstly mentioned and the second inlaying of the parlor was made in 1848. From 1880 until 1882 a new rectory was built more close to the church and the old one was sold. The new owner added a stable and a barn to the old rectory and used it as a farm. By the time the farm was not lucrative anymore, the owner left the valley and with the years the house fell apart. 2005 it was bought by an owner, who turned it into a holiday home. The house is under protection, by law defined as building with jutties, round arch door and windows with original embrasures, covered by a shingle roof. Also the ribbed-vault of the balm and the smoked kitchen with its barrel-vault are very precious. During the construction of the decayed panelling in the parlor, a gothic beam ceiling was discovered. The balm on the first floor of the building is covered by a panelling of the baroque era. The condition of the house was quite bad: the shingle roof was decayed, the wooden ceiling almost gone and the brickwork humid. The wooden panelling and beams were attacked by the boletus destructor and the panelling in the parlor was totally decomposed. The restoration was a very delicate and sensitive procedure. In order to keep the charm of the rectory it had to be done very carefully. The stable built on the roof of the barn was decomposed and had to be demolished. By reusing original, not attacked material, the stable was reconstructed and rededicated to a holiday home. [DE] Gebaut wurde das Widum zeitgleich mit der im Jahre 1495 geweihten Pfarrkirche Prettau. Urkundlich erwähnt ist das Haus zum ersten Mal im Jahre 1834, die auf die gotische Stubentäfelung aufgebrachte 2. Täfelung trägt die Jahreszahl 1848. In den Jahren 1880-1882 wurde ein neues Pfarrhaus näher an der Kirche gebaut und das alte Widum im Jahre 1890 verkauft. Der neue Besitzer baute Stall und Stadel dazu und führte das Anwesen als Bauernhof. Später standen Haus und Hof für längere Zeit leer und verfielen zusehends. 2005 erwarb Herr Fabio Gatto, ein Modedesigner aus Treviso das Gehöft und baute es als sein Feriendomizil um. Das Widum mit Stall und Stadel steht wegbegleitend direkt an der alten Dorfstrasse am Aufgang zur Kirche. Hinter dem Haus verläuft der alte Kirchsteig über den die Dorfbevölkerung den Kirchweg abkürzend zur Messe geht. Gemeinsam mit dem über der Strasse stehenden alten Haus - früher der Dorfladen - bildet die Häusergruppe Gasse, das alte Widum ist wichtiger Bestandteil im Ensemble Dorfzentrum Prettau. Das Haus steht unter Denkmalschutz als Gebäude mit Eckerker, Rundbogentür und Fenster mit originalen Laibungen, eingedeckt mit einem Schindeldach. Innen mit kreuzrippengewölbter Labe hinter dem Eingang und kreuzrippengewölbter Oberlabe, einer tonnengewölbten schwarzen Rauchküche im Erdgeschoss. Die Stube im Obergeschoss ist mit einer Barocktäfelung verschalt, nach dem Ausbau der morschen Holztäfelung kam in der Stube Erdgeschoss eine gotische Balkendecke zum Vorschein. Das Schindeldach morsch, die Holzdecken durchgefault, das Mauerwerk feucht. So präsentierte sich das Haus bei Baubeginn. Die Holztäfelungen und –balken waren vom Hausschwamm befallen, das Stubengetäfel im Erdgeschoss war bis unter die Decke angefault. Behutsam und sensibel musste die Sanierung vorgenommen werden um Charakter und Charme des Hauses über den Umbau in die neue Zweckbestimmung zu retten. Der auf den Stall aufgebaute Holzstadel war morsch und musste abgebrochen werden: unter Wiederverwendung der verbliebenen orginalen, noch gesunden Materialien wurde er als identisches Volumen neu aufgezimmert und beinhaltet heute eine Ferienwohnung. [IT] La canonica è stata costruita nell’anno 1495 contemporaneamente alla chiesa parrocchiale consacrata di Predoi. La casa viene documentata per la prima volta nel 1834, il secondo rivestimento in legno apportato sopra il rivestimento in stile gotico della stube risale al 1848. Negli anni 1880-1882 la nuova canonica è stata costruita più vicina alla chiesa e la vecchia canonica è stata venduta nel 1890. Il nuovo proprietario vi ha aggiunto una stalla e un fienile e ha governato la tenuta come maso. Più tardi la casa e la corte sono rimaste disabitate per un lungo periodo e sono lentamente cadute in rovina. Nel 2005 il signor Fabio Gatto, un designer di moda di Treviso, ha acquistato la tenuta e la ha ristrutturata ricavandone una casa per le vacanze. La canonica con la stalla e il fienile è situata direttamente lungo la vecchia strada che attraversa il paese sulla salita che porta alla chiesa. Dietro la casa si snoda il vecchio sentiero Kirchsteig che la popolazione percorre per raggiungere sulla via più breve la via Kirchweg e andare a messa. Insieme alla vecchia casa che sovrasta la strada - un tempo il negozio del paese – questo gruppo di case viene denominato Gasse, la vecchia canonica è parte importante dell’insieme architettonico del centro del paese di Predoi. La casa è sotto la tutela delle Belle Arti trattandosi di un edificio con un bovindo ad angolo, un portone a tutto sesto e finestre con intradossi originali, il tetto è coperto con scandole di legno. All’interno, dietro l’entrata, si trova l’atrio con volta a padiglione e un atrio superiore con volta a padiglione, al piano terra si trova una camera a fumo nera con volta a botte. La stube al piano superiore è perlinata con un rivestimento in legno barocco, dopo che è stato tolto il rivestimento in legno marcio nella stube del piano terra è venuto alla luce un soffitto a travi in stile gotico. Il tetto a scandole era marcio, i soffitti in legno erano ormai pericolanti e le mura erano umide, così si presentava l’edificio prima dei lavori di ristrutturazione. I rivestimenti e le travi in legno erano colpiti dal fungo delle case, il rivestimento della stube al piano terra era marcio fino sotto al soffitto. Il risanamento doveva essere fatto in modo delicato e prudente per salvare e mantenere il carattere e lo charme della casa attraverso la ristrutturazione per la sua nuova destinazione d’uso. Il fienile costruito sulla stalla era marcio e si è dovuto abbattere: riutilizzando I materiali originali ancora in buono stato è stato ripristinato sullo stesso volume e oggi contiene un appartamento per ferie.
