Soho House New York is a private members’ club and hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Covering six floors, it is built over 45,000 square feet of a converted warehouse building in Manhattan’s vibrant Chelsea area. The club offers extensive amenities including; the Restaurant, Club Bar, Drawing Room, Pantry Bar, a 44-seater cinema, Cowshed Spa and a heated rooftop pool. In addition, Soho House New York has 26 spacious bespoken designed rooms all featuring walk-in rainforest showers and full range of Cowshed products in the bathroom. Opened in 2003, Soho House New York has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, updating the décor and look and feel to provide a seamless flow throughout the house. The renovations span across both the club and bedrooms and continue to fit into the club’s ethos to act as a ‘home from home’. Across the lower floors, the hallways feature vintage light fixtures, striped wallpaper and an eclectic assortment of vintage framed prints and distressed mirrors, with a bohemian style. The bedrooms have been refurbished with a 'grit and glamour' feel - all with their own unique color palate, spacious bath tubs, a mix of new and reclaimed furniture and random width oak wood floor boards throughout. All 26 bedrooms include complimentary tea and coffee facilities including coffee machines, silver tea pots, cut glassware and House made biscuits. The 44 seat Screening Room has been refitted with taupe velvet chairs and ottomans filled with cashmere throws The adjacent Club Room also has a completely new look with reclaimed wood floor boards, a layered ceiling and textured tea stained wallpaper, finished with ornate sconces and chandeliers. The heart of the building, the Club has also undergone a revamp, including a complete re-design of the Club Bar, including traditional booth seating and a working fireplace to give a homely warm feel. The adjoining Restaurant gained the addition of new furnishings that offer casual, low-key dining options for members. Throughout the bar and restaurant, the re-design has given the dining area a rustic charm with reclaimed wood flooring and a salvaged tin ceiling. The Drawing Room refurbishment includes the addition of the Pantry, a full service farm style bar with communal tables and an honor Candy Bar, allowing members to dine wherever they feel most comfortable. Soho House New York Art collection Soho House has been synonymous with the creative industries ever since the launch of their first club in 1995. The birth of the art collection, spread across its clubs, hotels and restaurants has been a much welcomed addition to the walls, boasting over 600 pieces of work from a range of emerging and established artists. The art at each property reflects the location and style of each house, paying particular attention to the heritage of the club. Soho House New York’s collection of artwork aims to capture the vibe of New York City, with pieces of work by: Jonathan Horowitz, Taryn Simon, Jenny Holzer, Ryan McGinley, Rashid Johnson and Lawrence Weiner. The collection also taps into Soho House’s music connection, with pieces by singer/songwriter turned artist Kim Gordon. The collection will continue to expand as part of Soho House’s commitment to the arts.
