Between the Charles de Gaulle esplanade and Gambetta avenue, the Multiplex Europalaces Gaumont is structured according to the concept of an immense criss-crossing hall that offers two levels of theatres. It is considered to be one of the constructed façades of this new esplanade. Its architecture presents a play of large horizontal planes made of ALUCOBOND® and sloping lines on which sunlight plays by day and coloured lights by night. These horizontal lines link together like a large urban sequence, the ‘Liberty’, the cinema complex and the ‘Champs Libres’, each building having its own identity. Multiplex Europalaces Gaumont : Architect : Christian de Portzamparc Year of Construction: 2008 SURFACE : 18200 m2 gross floor area 9898 m² net floor area CLIENT : Europalaces (Pathé-Gaumont) ENGINEERS : ISATEG
