[en] - Following the Mekong, at the border between Laos and Cambodia, the river branches out creating few smaller flows. The project re-interpretates the border itself: not a division between two elements but a third element which can bring two communities closer. Reading the genius loci, imagining the everyday life of the villages and thinking about their culture and economy, we propose an integrated self-sustaining system located on the border area. This organic shape adapts itself to the morphology and the texture of the environment and presents three different functions and situations: - An amphibious park located in the water, where the boats can moor and people can walk on a floating plot which collects water plants that naturally filter the water. - A double system of paddy fields, irrigated by canals coming from the amphibious park, cultivated by the villagers as they are used to do. - A 0km market where people could arrive (both from ground or river and both from Cambodia or Laos), meet each other, sell and buy their self-made products. Il progetto reinterpreta il concetto di confine: non è più una divisione tra due elementi ma un terzo elemento che avvicini due comunità. Leggendo il genius loci, immaginando la vita quotidiana dei villaggi e pensando alla loro cultura ed economia, proponiamo un sistema integrato sulla linea di confine. Questa forma organica si adatta alla morfologia ed alla tessitura del luogo e si declina in tre differenti funzioni e situazioni: - Un parco anfibio situato nell’acqua, dove possono attraccare le imbarcazioni mentre le persone possono percorrere il tracciato galleggiante con piante acquatiche che filtrano l’acqua. - Un doppio sistema di risaie, irrigate da canali che convogliano l’acqua filtrata dal parco anfibio, coltivate dagli abitanti dei villaggi come nella loro tradizione. - Un mercato a Km 0 dove le persone possono arrivare (dalla terraferma o dal fiume e da Cambogia e Laos), incontrarsi, vendere e comprare prodotti locali.
