The small flat was formerly made up of a series of passageways, doors and dividing walls – as most buildings constructed in the late 19th century. Our project’s aim was to break down this rigid structure, bringing the rooms together in more harmonious continuity. Wood grafting containing the bathroom and closet space thus becomes the overall organising feature. This central element, wainscoted in walnut, is emphasised by its chromatic contrast with the continuous, milk-coloured resin flooring.
