Pierre Disderot
Pierre Disderot studied engineering at the Ecole Breguet but demonstrates a great sensitivity to modern architecture, he also joins the Espace group founded in 1951 by André Bloc, director of the journal l’Architecture today. In 1948, he opened Pierre Disderot Workshops, specialized in the manufacture of lighting fixtures. First inspired by the classic creations of his time like those of Perzel or bronziers of arts, he turns very quickly towards more innovative designs.

It is his meeting with Marcel Gascoin who offers him the opportunity to discover two talented young designers, Michel Mortier and Pierre Guariche, members of his design office. From then on, the trio launches the first range of ‘rational’ lighting fixtures Then follow other successful collaborations for almost 30 years: Joseph-André Motte, Gautier Delaye, Jacques Dumond, Bernard Durussel, Pierre Paulin, Roger Fatus … Many forefront models are born in his workshops. In 1955, he participated in the exciting adventure of the ARP founded the previous year by the trio Guariche, Motte and Mortier in order to federate editors acquired a demanding modernity.
