Phil graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) in 1995. He started his career at Foster and Partners and ESA before joining Hugh Broughton Architects in 2001. He became an associate in 2004. Phil was a key member of the design team responsible for winning the Halley VI Antarctic Research Station international design competition. He was project architect on Halley, taking the lead on the external cladding envelope design and structural coordination, and traveled to Antarctica as
