Nicolas Laisné
Nicolas Laisné founded his firm nicolas laisné architectes in 2005. The firm develops urban planning, architecture and interior design projects, from design to execution and site supervision. With his team of almost 40 people, based in Montreuil, he works for public authorities, as well as private players and individuals, in France and abroad.

Nicolas Laisné learned his trade through contact with a number of different cultures: India with Raj Rewal, the United States with Steven Holl, and Europe with Jean Nouvel For ‘l’Arbre Blanc’, one of his most emblematic achievements (2019), he borrowed from Japanese and Mediterranean culture. Nicolas Laisné is conscious of nature and has a way of blurring the frontier between the interior and the outside world through threshold effects and soft porosity.

Through his open-mindedness, his natural curiosity and his taste for dialogue, Nicolas Laisné has multiple influences and limits the weight of dogma. His joined-up vision of architecture allows him to invite philosophers, agronomists, botanists, artists and even data scientists to his table. He puts together a new multi-disciplinary and international team for each project.

His latest achievements and current projects (‘L’Arbre Blanc’, the ‘Arboretum‘ in Nanterre, ‘L’Atelier de l’Arsenal’ in Paris, ‘Nice Méridia’…) bear witness to his desire to open up architecture. To create more space for all, including nature, in ever denser cities. To cater to new habits in society, and the way they so rapidly evolve. To make the sharing of space a joyfully convivial experience.
