Matyáš Barák is a product design student at The Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, The Czech Republic. In 2016, Matyáš came to Sweden to understand architecture in the context of his work as a product designer. During his studies at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Matyáš made his first intervention into public space with a playful furniture family, which was produced in cooperation with Nola Industrier AB and presented at this year’s Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. The Fire-Place Project is the author’s first step into interior architecture.
