Martina Pires Cristóvão, a full member of the Ordem dos Arquitetos (OA21319), holds a master's degree in architecture from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Porto (2004 - 2009) and the Technical Higher School of Architecture of Barcelona (2009 - 2010).

During her academic journey in Porto, her work was recognized for four consecutive years and was exhibited at the faculty's annual exhibitions, "Anuária" - an exhibition of the best works of the year. In Barcelona, with her final year project, she was awarded the prize for best project in the city of Vila de Cans, Catalonia.

Until the completion of her studies, she collaborated with architect Pedro Magalhães Basto, working on housing projects and school park designs. After finishing her studies, she remained in Barcelona where she collaborated with architect Santiago Vives, working on state competitions as well as author projects, primarily focused on museums and housing.

Upon returning to Portugal, she became an integral part of the research project 'Life and Work of Mário Bonito' at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto.

Founder of the office Martina Arquitetura (2016), she continues to this day developing projects throughout the country and managing a dynamic, creative, and experienced team in architectural practice and the use of new technologies.

She has experience in rehabilitation projects since 2011, in both Portugal and Spain, and also designs new construction projects across the country, including single-family homes, multi-family buildings, and residential developments.

Her practice focuses on continuous and attentive work with light, spatial functionality, and volume design. She seeks authentic architecture, a contemporary building model capable of breaking down the tangible barriers between interior and exterior.
