Kurt Thut's was a grand master of Swiss furniture design thanks to exceptional talent and two concise convictions that he remained true to throughout his life: a piece of furniture needs to be clearly justified. And a design is only good if it is kept simple and straightforward. After completing his carpentry apprenticeship and a degree at the Art and Design College in Zurich, he joined his father's carpentry business and turned it into a breeding ground of excellent Swiss design. Thut worked simultaneously as a designer, developer, design engineer and producer and made furniture that creates a positive impression thanks to its timeless and distinctive design.
