Kenan Belal
Kenan Belal is an architectural designer, earth builder, sculptor, and architectural conservator. The Master’s degree in architectural conservation program at the German Jordanian University prepared him to study global architectural history and gave him the ability to analyze the old structural techniques. In addition to that, his master thesis and the experimental courses in earth buildings’ methods have broadened his experience in the vernacular architecture and old sustainable design elements and building systems in Europe and Arabs regions. In his early years, he has enjoyed the rich architecture and history of Damascus and began studying architecture at Damascus University in 2008. He then moved to Jordan to complete and receive his bachelor's degree in architectural engineering from the University of Jordan.

After moving to Jordan he joined the architects' team of the Ayla Oasis project from 2012 as an intern architect until he moved to the United States in 2020 which forced him to leave the company as an architectural designer who had designed and managed many architectural and interior projects during that period.

Belal had the opportunity to work on several projects in Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. During his long-staying in Jordan, he worked with the architect Ammar Khammash in developing the master plan of the area between the residential area of Wadi Musa and the entrance of the historical site of Petra. On the other hand, he joined the UNESCO team to work on the restoration of an old Nabatian structure.
