Born 1961 in Chicago, Mr. Tanney earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1984 and a Master of Architecture in 1987 from The Ohio State University. He was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Gold Medal for outstanding leadership, and a GTA in which he taught a graduate design studio with Peter Eisenman for the XVII Triannale in Milan.
