Born in Cáceres in 1989, Jorge de la Cruz comes from a long tradition of wood artisan family. Since he was young, he was interested by this material and its diverse applications. When he was eighteen, he moved to Madrid to study Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. In 2009, he begun the Product Design degree at Istituto Europeo di Design at the city of Madrid, where he begun to grow as designer and to experiment with different materials and processes.
