After being educated as an architect and urban planner at the University of Kassel, Germany, Jens Richter has accumulated a deep understanding of all facets in the practice of architecture, combining sensitivity and skilled intuition for design with a broad understanding of all technical and operational components. Upon his arrival to Spain in 2006 he immediately started to accompany the trajectory of Herreros Arquitectos where he was appointed office director in 2010 coordinating and representing all facets of the office at any level. Jens has been incorporated as first partner of estudio Herreros at its foundation in 2014 consolidating the international profile of the office.

Henceforward Jens he has been involved in estudio Herreros most renowned projects and he currently oversees the construction of the New Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway; the completion of the conference centre Ágora Bogotá in the Colombian capital and the development of new residential areas such as EUROMED in Marseille, France and the ANFA district in Casablanca, Morocco.

Jens is a regular guest critic in various universities and academic institutions in Europe, North America and China such as the Oslo School of Architecture, Columbia University, Princeton University and Tongji University and has been assistant and visiting professor at AKH Kassel, Germany; Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Chongqing, China; the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China; and most recently at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland.

His academic and professional activity combined with his dispersive enthusiasm for his profession in his position representing estudio Herreros is being recognized in multiple forums worldwide. Before joining estudio Herreros, Jens worked in several internationally renowned offices in Germany, the Netherlands and China acquiring a distinct professional profile from various cultural contexts.
