Hugh established Hugh Broughton Architects in 1995. He had previously worked with Troughton McAslan and Manser Associates and trained at Edinburgh University.
Since its foundation, Hugh’s practice has developed a strong reputation for well-considered contemporary design. Projects designed by Hugh have won awards from the RIBA, the Civic Trust and the International Property Federation. In 2002 the practice was runner up in the prestigious Building Awards Young Architectural Practice of the Year
