After having graduated in Civil and Hydraulic Engineering in 1982, he started his career in the National Fire Brigade, becoming Deputy Commander of the Turin Brigade in 1984, heading until 1995. He took on a teaching profession as contract Professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin for the course of: “Advanced firefighting in buildings”; “Fire Safety” for the course of Environmental Protection.

From1996 until now, he has been working as freelance professional in the specific fire safety sector, in temporary and mobile construction sites, safety at work (Legislative Decree 81/08 and subsequent amendments and supplements), in the sector of maintenance and environmental impact assessment, and project management. In the scope of projects and constructions with special application in the implementation of the fire prevention and protection measures, he has worked for the following projects: Intesa San Paolo Tower in Turin – Palazzo Italia in Milan – Former Michelin Muse area and Library in Trento – Porta Nuova Garibaldi in Milan – Carrefour Nichelino Shopping Centre– New ENI San Donato Corporate Centre – New Prismyan headquarters in Milan. Within the scope of his professional activity, he thoroughly investigated the issues associated with the on-site safety management and maintenance. From such scientific and operational activity, he invented the method of the “participated security”, experimented in the construction site of Porta Nuova Garibaldi in Milan. In 2009, he founded GAE engineering srl, a company which, under his technical direction, has been developing projects and innovative applications in the sector of fire safety.

In the sector of tall buildings, he has been specialist advisor for fire safety, safety plan as well as support for the achievement of the declaration of compliance in the field of fire and hygiene safety, under the project for the construction of the New Regione Piemonte headquarters and the San Paolo skyscraper. In recent projects, he has been head of the team of the fire-fighting project for the new Unipol Sai corporate centre in Milan as well as manager of the fire-fighting project, Safety Coordinator during design and execution stage, and project manager for the project of the new AS Roma stadium.
