Franco Bizzozzero
Franco Bizzozzero was born in Cantù, the centre of the cabinet-making art, in 1948, where he has been educated. Cantù was also where he developed the first subjects for his research project in this field by cooperating with magazines and by teaching "Furniture Technique" in professional centres. After scientific studies, he attended the "Politecnico" in Milan, where he graduated in 1973 with the theme "the handcraft as an essential component in the structure of a territory". Primarily a designer he is committed with particular enthusiasm to industrial projects and to business communication. As far as architecture is concerned, he is active in the various fields of the planning and scenography of indoor spaces. Professional activities aside, Franco Bizzozzero also has some institutional positions and assumes an active role as President of the CLAC, a non-profit organisation in the wood-furniture system, set up to promote design and technological innovation in small and medium-sized companies, as well as of the "Gallery of Design and Furniture", permanent home to the historical collection of the "Compasso d'oro-ADI awards". His efforts have been the springboard to a growing involvement abroad, as chairman of meetings about the "relationship between design and form". His collaboration with Pierantonio Bonacina began in 1983 with the project to develop the new corporate image of the company. In the following years Franco Bizzozzero has contributed many items to the Pierantonio Bonacina portfolio.
