Francesco Buzzi
Born on January the 29th 1966 in Locarno, southern Switzerland.

Francesco Buzzi runs his own practice, Buzzi Studio di Architettura in Locarno.
From 1986 he studies architecture at ETH Zurich, graduating in 1993. He also attends the Art History course at Zürich University as part of his studies.

He takes an internship in 1989 by Livio Vacchini, whom will become a figure of reference.
In 1990 his residency by Riken Yamamoto in Tokyo leads to academic research on architect Kazuo Shinohara, under the supervision of professor Werner Oechslin.

From 1995 to 2010 he is joint owner of Buzzi e Buzzi Architetti with Britta Buzzi and in 2011 he grounds Buzzi Studio di Architettura. Recent projects include a residential estate on the lake promenade in Locarno, a residential and commercial development in Solduno and a sustainable power plant in Losone, due to completion in 2015.

In 2010 ETH Zurich dedicates an exhibition to Buzzi and Buzzi's work, followed by shows in Eindhoven in 2011, Paris 2012, and Barcelona 2013.

He is assistant professor to Adam Caruso and Peter St John from 2000 to 2001 and Jonathan Sergison from 2008 to 2010 at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio.

Buzzi contributes regularly to Werk magazine, and a selection of his writing and essays are published in the Swiss and international architecture press. His work is featured on national and international publications.
