Federico Cedrone, a brief biography.

Born on the 15th of June 1968 in Salisbury, Rhodesia, currently named Harare, Zimbabwe . However, having had seen the dramatic politic and humanitarian developments caused by the despotic regime of Mugabe, he prefers calling it with the names used before the revolution; cause of the return of his family back in Italy in 1970.

He grows up in Rome in a family surrounded by art and creativity: considering his mother, step father and grandmother being painters and “children of the arts”. Unfortunately however, Federico doesn’t manage to communicate his ideas and creativity through drawing. This is what brings him to discover photography, he then allows the camera to become his paintbrush. Therefore, he moves to Florence to follow his father’s (photographer) footsteps. In 1991 he moves to Milan where he masters different techniques and starts working on his own whilst collaborating with some fashion magazines.

Bianca, his first born child, was born in 1997 from the bond he establishes with Cristiana Gastel, also thanks to their common passion for photography. Matilde was then born in 1998, followed 10 years later by Pietro in 2008.

His job has a turning point in 1996 when he starts to collaborate with ELLE DECOR, which allows him to discover the environment of interior design photography, one that follows his way of being (less stressed out) compared to the chaotic (but stilly fascinating) world of fashion.

Since then he collaborated with the following journalistic magazines: Vogue, Casa Vogue (Brazilian issue), Elle, Grazia, Elle Decor, Grazia Casa, D di Repubblica, Io Donna, Vogue Gioiello, Vogue Pelle, Amica, Casa Amica, VS... and many advertising clients: Arketipo, Bisazza, Cassina, Desalto, Donghia, Florense (Brazilian Brand) Frette, Gallotti & Radice, Knoll, Limonta, Minotti, Nemo, Poliform, Redaelli, Rubelli, Rimadesio, Zucchi...

He alwayes attempted to create his own space where he could develop his reserch, bonding his commercial needs with his own aesthetic sensibility.

Federico’s future objectives will be the ones of developing more personal projects that enclose the experiences he had until now...
