Fabio Biavaschi
Fabio Biavaschi, was born in 1982 in Cantù, Italy, a famous town known for its artisan and the wood’s workmanship.
He completed his study in 2008 at Politecnico di Milano graduating in Industrial Design.

He is a young resourceful designer to be, not yet graduated, when he starts in 2007 the
“SuperMatite_Genuine Design” a creative cooperative that organize events connected to his passions:
design and art.
He begins his professional career as a retail designer working for some well-known Italian brands
staging their fair stands at international exhibitions, such us Salone del Mobile di Milano, Cersaie Bologna, Pitti Firenze, Maison et Object Paris, Biennale Interieur Kortrijk, IMM Colgne, ISH Frankfurt and more in Italy and Europe.

2010 is certainly a year of great ferment. Fabio starts working as a product designer for a well renowned design consultancy in London, “Marc Krusin Studio” and then, when he goes back home he takes on a new challenge: the opening of his own Studio in the center of Como.
It is almost 2011 when he creates his first furniture collection, entirely made out of cardboard, for the
brand GLOOOK. It is not a merely work on commission though. Fabio designs the logo, thinks at the
concept, drafts the collection appearance and starts sketching the furniture complements following his own inspiration. GLOOOK become at once a success, a young renowned brand.
In the same year, Fabio takes part in a competition - the international A’DESIGN AWARD designing two products intended for kids: the Spinning top “STRUMML LAMP” and the “FABULOU’S WALL BOOKCASE”. They both win the award.
So does the OUTDOOR BENCH LAGOON that Fabio designs for “FRA LE BRICCOLE DI VENEZIA” a
contest launched by the famous brand RIVA1920.
Since then, Fabio starts a set of collections by cooperating with some Italian artisans, designing both
industrial and custom made furniture.

Interior, retail and graphic projects are also ongoing as they are too, parallel work fields where he likes to create.

In May 2013 Fabio moves to Australia.
After a long trip around the continent, while living in a farm, he starts structuring some artistic figures fusing different objects made of wood and rusted tractor metal parts.
He tries to express through art and design his new life celebrating the new country he lives in.
This experiment began “just to have fun”,results in a collection of artistic pieces called “SUPERoldNATURAL/CHALFORD COLLECTION”.

Presently based in Melbourne, Fabio carries on his freelance designer career.
