Strong of 4 years of visual communication studies in Paris, Fabien Barrero-Carsenat collaborrates with Air France and Concorde in their CDG headquarters; with the Studio Collet in Saint-Ouen and the Phenomene Suresne agency. His desire to design objects and shape volumes leads him to be selected for the 2007 promo of the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Etienne. Over 5 years, he cultivates a peculiar interest for raw materials, their singularity, as well as what he calls "the identity of the material". He dedicates the majority of his time exploring and experimenting concepts and techniques within workshops. His thirst for discovery is enriched with a stay in Finland, Lahti; at the Polytechnic Institute of Design. The nordic culture of respect of nature is a revelation and sparks the project "Pinus Pinaster". His research on pine sap enables him to weave human connexions and eco-responsible object creation; all while benefitting from natural and raw properties of materials. His approach of experimental design as creative process secures him an assistant position at Pepe Heykoop in Amsterdam. In 2013, he transforms his grandfather's barn, at the heart of Perigord Noir; and funds the Studio Fabien barrero+carsenat. His comeback to France is motivated with a desire to work differently, away from urban areas and sourcing inspiration and materials in adequation with his philisophy.

"From the begining, it is the material properties which leads the design of the piece; I only design the hypothesis of what the piece could be"
