Architect and industrial designer. From 1982 to 2009 he taught at the Muthesius University in Kiel. In addition, he has been a visiting professor at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou since 1997. Among other things, Zimmer was on the founding advisory board of the Shanghai Institute of Design (SID), was co-editor of the "international magazine of design, md" for more than twenty years and was a member of the DAAD selection committee in Bonn for several years, as well as being a juror on different design juries more than 60 times. His projects and publications have been published internationally. As a designer, he advises domestic and foreign companies.
