Charles Schumann, class of 1941, began with some professional experiences as a federal border guard, in the office of Foreign Affairs, and with gastronomy in Montpellier; he then studied political science and journalism, and from 1978 worked at Harry's Bar in Munich. In 1982 he opened his own Schumann's American Bar in Maximilianstrasse, where he quickly obtained international renown, and in 2001, he opened Schumann's Tagesbar, which relocated to the prestigious Odeonsplatz in 2003. Charles Schumann has published several bar books, as well as CDs, and he has produced wine, coffee, and his own series of glasses. As a model for Baldessarini and Hugo Boss, he has become known all over the world.
