As a registered licensed architect with more than 30 years of experience in the fields of architecture, design, public art, and fine arts, Ali has worked on numerous large-scale award-winning architectural projects as well as art installations and products. His architectural work during the last 10 years has been focused on the intersection of art, architecture and neuroscience. The impact of built environment on people's health and wellbeing is his main preoccupation.

Specialties: Heshmati is an architect, public artist, educator, and public speaker on human centric architecture. Currently working with Henning Larsen Architects in Norway, Heshmati is also a PhD candidate at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Heshmati’s practice, teaching, research, and writing focuses on the impact of the built environment on people's physiological and psychological health, wellbeing, cognitive performance, sustained vigilance and mood fluctuations.
