The objective of Park Associati's work is to give an architectural shape to a vision, by interpreting and synthesising the variables specific to each project and the forces at stake.
While listening to the concrete and explicit elements dictated by regulations and economic, climatic or environmental conditions, attention is also paid to the intangible and more concealed dimensions: the clients' identity values, the users' wishes and requirements, the urban, social, political and economic context.
By using intuition – meant as the ability to decipher complexity – and through a process of research and dialogue, the practice has been able to interpret the peculiarities of each environment and provide architectural responses to the appropriate questions.
Experimentation with languages and technologies, as well as collaboration with other disciplines have led Park Associati to tackle the most diverse projects with a broad spectrum of interventions, ranging from urban planning to design.
The practice proposes specific and rigorous projects, without losing sight of the compositional and aesthetic aspects.
Daring projects, such as those of the Salewa Headquarters in Bolzano and Luxottica and Nestlé in Milan, are characterised by an ever-changing but always characterful stylistic line that also reflects the open, wide-ranging and scientific creative process of the associates and their collaborators.
The masterplans for the sensitive area adjacent to Expo2015 between Milan and Baranzate, and the redevelopment of Rozzano in Southern Milan, are also the result of the analysis and understanding of both context and territory.
From The Cube and Priceless travelling restaurants, to Hermès pop-up shop in Rome, from the international stores of the Brioni haute couture house to design pieces for Driade and Zumtobel, Park Associati's interventions have always been characterised by a constant search aimed at combining materials and their forms with different functionalities, as well as the utmost attention to detail.
Thanks to the ability to listen, interpret and give back to the community, urban regeneration and the retrofitting of historic and Modernist buildings have become key themes for the practice. Bearing witness to this approach in Milan are the restorations of La Serenissima and Gioiaotto, the recent conservative intervention in Piazza Cordusio, and the complete refurbishment of the new Engie headquarters in the former industrial area of Bicocca.
Park Associati are always keen to explore new fields in order to face, in its personal way, the challenges and the complexity of contemporary architecture.
