Housed within crystalline, metal-clad shapes, high end retail shops will line Las Vegas Blvd and the Avenue. A dramatic entry into the retail area from the Strip will draw pedestrians into the public arcade covered by an expressive, spiraling roof structure. In addition to providing access to retail, the public spaces will allow for a variety of urban experiences: a water feature at the entry, cafes as well as a grand staircase leading to Casino Square at the end of the arcade that will animate the space. In addition to the main entry off Las Vegas Blvd, there are two entries off the Avenue and access to the facility on the second level through pedestrian bridges over Harmon Avenue to the Lifestyle Hotel and over the Avenue from The Mandarin Oriental Hotel. In addition to the casino, hotels and residential buildings, the public retail complex is intended to add a vibrant program to the mixed-use development on Block C.

CityCenter is an unprecedented urban metropolis that will open in late 2009 on 76 acres between Bellagio and Monte Carlo resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Charting a new course for responsible growth in Las Vegas, MGM MIRAGE is pursuing the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification at CityCenter. As planned, the 18-million-square foot, multi-use project will become one of the world’s largest environmentally sustainable urban communities.
