The intervention aims to provide 136 parking spaces to the coastal area of ​​the village of Es Pujols, which concentrates the major part of tourism on the island of Formentera.
In order to release the pressure of road traffic for pedestrians in the entire area of ​​the Plaza de Europa, it has been developed a building of 3018 m2 completely buried whose cover forms a public space.

The simple geometry of the plant helps to optimize the use of the surface and only altered by an annex of facilities, whose facade is the result of the creation of the access ramp at the middle of the northeastern end of the building. Behind this unique building facade are located the control center, bathroom, water deposit and fire fightihng facilities.

Inside, the regular program of the isotropy functional and structural system have only an exception on the insertion of a longitudinal patio which absorbs the regulatory needs of natural ventilation, while visually connecting the parking level with the public space of the Plaza de Europa. This longitudinal section also represents an important source of natural light and houses inside the evacuation elements and vegetation that bring to mind the existing indigenous pine forest before the urbanization of the area.
Thus the user, after parking the vehicle, intuitively directs himself towards this central court guided by natural lighting, and from there, goes to the upper plaza through the stairs or the elevators. Also at the core of the elevator it has been placed a cash machine located in the central section of the yard.

In the realization of the building clearly dominates one material: concrete, put in work in different ways: in situ (slab foundation), prefabricated (pillars, wrought special auction items, planters and retaining walls), in small slabs (pavement ramp) and a composite panel (facing the elevator core and part of the facade of access).

The resulting interior space is of great constructive simplicity and sincerity, reversing a general harmony. The structure is also partly enclosure and left visible. The facilities have been studied to relate to the structural grid and allowed to view, to appreciate its beauty.

The natural ventilation strategy through the longitudinal courtyard and have opted for LED lighting zoned, optimize energy efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

La intervención tiene como objeto dotar de 136 plazas de aparcamiento a la zona litoral del núcleo urbano de Es Pujols, donde se concentra la parte más importante de la actividad turística de la isla de Formentera.
Con el objetivo de liberar de la presión del tránsito rodado para su uso peatonal en la totalidad de la superficie de la Plaza de Europa, se ha desarrollado un edificio de 3018 m2 completamente enterrado cuya cubierta conforma un espacio público.

La geometría sencilla de la planta ayuda a optimizar el aprovechamiento de la superficie y tan sólo se ve alterada por un anexo de instalaciones y servicios, cuya fachada es el resultado de la creación de la rampa de acceso por la mitad del extremo Noreste del edificio. Tras esta única fachada visible del edificio se encuentran la oficinal de control, baño, recintos de instalaciones y aljibe contraincendios.

En el interior, la isotropía regular del programa funcional y del sistema estructural sólo encuentran una excepción con la inserción un patio longitudinal que absorbe las necesidades normativas de ventilación natural, a la vez que conecta visualmente el nivel del aparcamiento con el del espacio público de la Plaza de Europa. Este corte longitudinal representa también una importante fuente de iluminación natural y alberga en su interior los elementos de evacuación así como vegetación que traen a la memoria del pinar autóctono existente antes de la urbanización de la zona.
De este modo el usuario, después de estacionar el vehículo, intuitivamente se dirige hacia este corte central guiado por la iluminación natural, y desde allí, accede a la plaza superior a través de las escaleras alojadas en sus extremos ó del ascensor. También en el núcleo del ascensor se ha ubicado el cajero automático, en el tramo central del patio.

En la materialización del edificio predomina claramente un único material, el hormigón, puesto en obra de diferentes maneras: in situ (losa de cimentación), prefabricado (pilares, forjado, piezas especiales de remate, maceteros y muros de contención), en pequeñas losas (pavimento de la rampa de acceso) y como panel composite (revestimiento del núcleo del ascensor y parte de la fachada de acceso).
El espacio interior resultante es de una gran sobriedad y sinceridad constructiva, que revierten en una harmonía general. La estructura es también en parte cerramiento y se ha dejado vista. Las instalaciones se han estudiado para que guarden relación con la retícula estructural y se han dejado vistas, para poder apreciar su belleza.

La estrategia de ventilación natural a través del patio longitudinal, así como haber optado por un sistema zonificado de iluminación por LED, optimizan la eficiencia energética del aparcamiento y reducen los costes de explotación.
