House built in two levels, ground surface and rudeness of 1,249.90 m2362.44 m2., 887.46 m2 free area occupied by the garage, a courtyard with reflecting pool and the garden (724.71 m2.)
Ground Floor, 362.44 m2 covered entrance hall, inner hall, double height library, 2 guest bathrooms, double height Interior Patio, Living room with fireplace, dining room, breakfast area and kitchen with Pantry and utility room. Includes room covered terraces, breakfast area and kitchen and a barbecue pit.

Upper level , 261.98 m2, Lobby, TV Room, Master Bedroom with bathroom and dressing room, gym, two secondary bedrooms with bathroom and dressing room each and an outdoor terrace garden. Guest bedroom with bathroom separated from the rest of the bedrooms also on this level.
Structure-based construction of concrete with rebar, apparent concrete walls, red brick and use of structural steel elements.

The exterior walls finishes and some interior ones are Galarza stone , plaster and paint the ceiling as in the use of marble bathrooms Sto. Tomas and cast with vinyl and enamel paints in wet areas.
Chiseled exterior concrete floors and marble Sto. Tomas in various sizesas designed river boulders dropped into water body and the side garden walkway.  Engineered walnut flooring  and carpet in dressing rooms.
Windows in anodized aluminum and clear glass, iron railings and gates, garage doors and access in iron and wood.

Fixed furniture in the Library, double-height ceiling lamp, toilets, closets, dressers and cupboards and doors and baseboards are made ​​of walnut. Main stairs and visits room, based on elements of steel and wood tracks.



Narrativo memory
Contemporary architectural family house in a residential classified historic colonial zone of Chimalistac in Mexico city .
It difficult to say anything else about another house , and this is what this is about, is a house made to order for a client, which is often more complex than developing a large building. The result depends on two factors: a good architect, but rather more of a good client.

The context in which the house is inserted has an historic colonial character untouched by the unorganized sprawl that has occurred elsewhere.
The fact of intervening in a historic area entries (INAH) raises the dilemma of adapting or blending into the context , but by ideology could not talk about the present and future with the language of the past.

Fact generated some discussion with the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) http://www.inah.gob.mx/ because their vision is to recreate the past even if this results in a pastiche , and finally and where the  interaction between the inside and outside occurs our goal was to achieve the neutrality that would make the transition from the historical to the modernity of the interior.

The fashionable and politically correct slogan nowadays is that everything must be sustainable over yet despite the good wishes and intentions, and after several runs to determine the relationships financial cost benefit, the only we could manage to improve was in  energy saving light bulbs and intelligent control systems and sensors linked to timerand more efficient irrigation systems.

The most important was the use of intelligent design to make the house better in comfort and climate, and the building design process in which no processing or transformation of materials such as stone, wood etc.was done, a system based on just in time logistics and a change in how the jobsite is managed ,with prefabrication and the inclusion of pre-finished items

As part of the architectonic discourse and for reasons of durability and maintenance very few finishings were used , being concrete one of the most notable of the house for its ability that does not age and decay ,and the fact it acquires more dignity and history with time.

One of the main objectives was to achieve the most natural light and views to the garden, and not to create a series of closed rooms but a series of spaces where the events happen and articulate wit one another .
It is important to note that the entire house is designed in modules and multiples of feet and then generating different size of overlapping rectangles ,that became the generating pattern of the geometric theme of the house.

Casa Habitación en dos niveles; superficie de terreno de 1,249.90 m2 y desplante de 362.44 m2., superficie libre de 887.46 m2 ocupados por el Garage, un Patio Exterior con Espejo de Agua y por el Jardín (724.71 m2.)
Planta Baja; 362.44 m2; Vestíbulo de Acceso cubierto, Vestíbulo interior, Biblioteca doble altura, 2 Baños de Visitas, Patio Interior a doble altura, Sala con chimenea, Comedor, Desayunador y Cocina con Pantry y un cuarto de servicio. Incluye Terrazas cubiertas en Sala, Desayunador y Cocina y un asador.

Planta Alta; 261.98 m2; Vestíbulo, Sala de TV, Recámara Principal con baño y vestidor, Gimnasio, dos Recámaras secundarias con baño y vestidor cada una y una terraza descubierta al jardín. Recámara de Visitas con baño separada del resto de las recámaras también en este nivel.
Construcción a base de Estructura de concreto armado , muros aparentes de concreto, tabique rojo y uso de elementos de acero estructural.

Los acabados para muros en exterior y algunos al interior con cantera Galarza y uso de aplanados y pasta. Muros interiores acabados con yeso y pintura igual que los plafones, en baños el uso de mármol Sto. Tomás y yeso con pinturas vinílica y esmalte en zonas húmedas.
Pisos exteriores en concreto martelinado y mármol Sto. Tomás en varios tamaños según diseño, piedra bola de río suelta en espejo de agua y andador del jardín lateral. En interior con mármol Sto. Tomás, piso de ingeniería en madera de nogal y alfombra en vestidores.
Cancelería de aluminio anodizado natural y cristal claro, barandales y rejas de hierro, puertas del garage y acceso en hierro y madera.

Mobiliario fijo en Biblioteca, Plafón en doble altura, lavabos, closets, vestidores y alacenas así como puertas y zoclos son en madera de Nogal. Escaleras principal y de visitas; a base de elementos de acero y huellas en madera.

Memoria expositiva
Intervención arquitectónica residencial unifamiliar contemporánea en zona colonial catalogada histórica de Chimalistac.

Es muy difícil decir algo más de una casa mas, y esta lo es ,es una casa hecha por encargo para un cliente, lo cual muchas veces es más complejo que desarrollar un gran edificio. El resultado depende de dos factores: un buen arquitecto pero más que nada un buen cliente.

El entorno donde se encuentra la casa tiene un carácter histórico colonial casi no tocado por el crecimiento desordenado que se ha dado en otras partes.
El hecho de intervenir en una zona histórica catalogada (por el INAH) plantea la disyuntiva de adaptarse o mimetizarse con el contexto, pero por ideología no podíamos hablar del presente y futuro con el lenguaje del pasado.

Esto genero algunas discusiones con el INAH (Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia) http://www.inah.gob.mx/ , ya que su visión es la de recrear el pasado aunque esto resulte en un pastiche, finalmente y en donde se da la interacción entre el exterior e interior buscamos la mayor neutralidad para poder dar la transición a lo modernidad del interior.

El termino de moda y lo políticamente correcto el día de hoy es de que todo debe ser sustentable, más sin embargo y a pesar de los buenos deseos e intenciones, y después varias corridas financieras para determinar las relaciones costo beneficio, a lo único que se puedo llegar es a focos ahorradores y sistemas de control inteligente ligado a temporalizadores y sensores, así como sistemas de riego mas eficientes.

Lo más importante fue el uso de un diseño inteligente para hacer la casa lo mejor en cuanto a confort y clima, y el diseño de procesos de construcción donde no se llevaron a cabo en obra la transformación de materiales como piedra madera etc., sino mas bien basados en un sistema de logística y justa in time donde se busco las mayor prefabricación y la inclusión de elementos ya terminados.

Se utilizaron como parte del discurso y por cuestiones de durabilidad y mantenimiento muy pocos acabados entre ellos el concreto que resalta en los elementos más notables de la casa, por ser un material que no envejece y decae si no que va adquiriendo más dignidad e historia con el tiempo.

Uno de los objetivos principales fue el de lograr la mayor iluminación natural y vista a los jardines, y de no crear una serie de cuartos cerrados sino una serie de espacios donde acontecen las puestas en escena y donde estos se articulan entre sí mismos.

Es importante notar que toda la casa esta concebida en módulos y múltiplos de pies y de ahí se saca un patrón cuatrapeado que conforma todo el tema geométrico de la misma.
